Our programs get things startedWe offer two core types of donor-funded programs: Community-Based and Site-Based Mentoring. And no matter when a child enters a program, there’s no limit to where he or she can go.
Core Programs
Community-Based Programs
Spending time together out in the local community is primarily how Bigs and Littles develop their relationship. After all, to change a child’s perspective of the world, it helps to spend some time out in it. Learn more >
Site-Based Programs
Sometimes the best place for enjoying activities together is at the child’s school or at an after-school site. And, the best part is, it can be a great learning experience, in or out of the classroom. Learn more >
Big Couples
You and your spouse are matched with a child and encouraged to share everyday activities together. This program is designed for couples who want to volunteer as mentors together, thus providing role models for a caring and healthy relationship. We ask that you share 8 hours per month for a minimum of one year with your match. Learn more>
Mealtime Buddy
The Meal Time Buddy program is designed to give the volunteer an opportunity to spend one hour a week with a child at one of the three Boys and Girls Clubs. This program provides the chance to build friendships between adult volunteers and kids. The first part of the hour is spent sharing a meal with your buddy, which is free to the volunteer and the remaining time is spent sharing an activity of choice. It may be shooting hoops, a game of pool, playing a board game or just sharing conversation. Learn more >
- Lunch Buddies
- Spend thirty minutes with a child at one of the local elementary schools. Hang out, eat lunch, or just share stories over your lunch hour once a week. Volunteers must be at least 16 and have reliable transportation. Learn more >
