Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks Board of Directors has appointed two new board member: Springfield Police Sgt. Curt Ringgold and Associate Attorney Andy Peebles.
Board president Thomas Lane said the new members are welcome additions to the board of 25.
“Both Andy and Sgt. Ringgold have a passion for our agency’s mission of creating and supporting life-changing, positive mentoring relationships for our community’s kids,” Lane said. “They have a strong sense of community spirit and will bring talent, expertise and energy to our Board.”
Sgt. Curt Ringgold
Ringgold is a 21-year veteran of the Springfield Police Department (SPD) where he is currently the sergeant of a Center City squad and the Springfield Police Department’s Honor Guard. He has served in many capacities within the SPD, including a stint on the Special Response Team (commonly known as the SWAT team) as well as six years as a Narcotics Unit undercover officer. Ringgold has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Missouri Western State University.
Ringgold is the United Way coordinator for the SPD and has worked with the Greene County 100 Club, BBBSO and other local agencies doing numerous fundraising events. He lives in Nixa and has been married to his wife, Suzie, for 18 years. They have two children.
Peebles is an associate attorney and member of the Estate Planning Practice Group of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell, & Brown, P.C. His practice involves the preparation of estate planning documents such as simple and complex trusts, wills, powers of attorney, premarital agreements, and business documents to meet his clients’ unique estate planning objectives. He also assists clients in the administration and distribution of the estates and trusts of recently deceased loved ones. He received both his Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Missouri.
Peebles is involved in various civic and charitable organizations, including serving as a Big Brother and Auxiliary Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, assisting the Drew Lewis Foundation at the Fairbanks as a pro-bono legal advisor, serving as a member of the Great Futures Committee and a Youth of the Month judge for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Rotaract Club of Springfield.
